Construction technology and construction method of water-swellable water-stop glue
Pretreatment
Use a wire brush to remove sand and concrete residue from the construction joint surface within the laying range in advance. Then wipe it clean with water or press water. The surface area can be rough or flat, it can be dry or wet
Cut
According to the designed extrusion section, use cutting Cut off the corresponding part of the front end of the water-stop glue mouth with a knife, and use a thin wire to pierce the film inside. And shake it left and right to expand the hole. Be careful not to poke it repeatedly, otherwise the film chips will be mixed into the extruded water-stop glue, which will affect the construction quality.
Extrusion
Install the water-stop hose onto the sealing gun, and squeeze out the water-stop glue while pulling the trigger. In order for the extruded water-stop glue to adhere well to the concrete surface, the front end of the outlet should be pressed against the concrete surface. After construction, it should be confirmed that there is no gap between the concrete base surface and the water-stop glue, and the extruded water-stop glue is laid continuously and evenly on the base surface. If the extruded colloid is discontinuous or uneven, you can use a scraper to scrape or trim it appropriately.
Curing and curing
In order to ensure that the water-stop glue has good adhesion to the concrete, sufficient curing time must be ensured. It should not take more than an hour for the water-stop glue to harden on the surface after application. The surface hardening of the water-stop glue needs to be completely dry to the touch before the next concrete pouring can be carried out.
Treatment after water immersion
If it takes a long time from the construction of the water-stop glue to the next pouring of concrete, please pay attention to protect the water-stop glue from being soaked in water. If water expansion does not cause the water-stop glue to peel off due to immersion, it must be repaired before pouring concrete. The repair method is as follows: first use nails to fix the peeled water-stop glue, remove the accumulated water, then remove the peeled water-stop glue, and re-apply.
Notes
The distance between the water-stop glue and the edge of the concrete must not be smaller. If the distance is too small, the expansion stress will cause the concrete to burst. When it is necessary to extrude the water-stop glue in batches, the overlap length should not be less than 1. The next time the concrete is poured, the vibrator cannot come into direct contact with the water-stop glue.
