If the electroscope has a self-test system, you should first press the self-test button to confirm that the electroscope is intact, and then test it on the equipment that needs to be tested. During the test, you should also gradually move the electroscope closer to the equipment to be tested. Until it touches the conductive part of the equipment, if there is no sound or light indication during this process, it can be determined that the equipment is not charged. On the contrary, if it suddenly lights up or makes a sound during the process of moving closer, it is considered that the equipment is charged, and you can stop moving closer and end the test. electricity. In addition, the windshield type electroscope is only suitable for use indoors or outdoors in good weather. It is prohibited to use it under rain, snow and other environmental conditions.
When testing with a high-voltage electroscope, you must wear insulating gloves that meet the requirements. You cannot test alone. There must be someone beside you to supervise the test. To prevent a phase-to-phase or ground-to-ground short circuit accident, there should be sufficient distance between the human body and the live body. The safe distance of high voltage is above. When used outdoors, the weather must be good. Ordinary insulating rod types should not be used in rain, snow, fog and high humidity weather to prevent danger.
Before use, stretch the insulating rod
to the specified length according to the voltage level of the equipment (line) being measured, select the appropriate type of indicator and insulating rod, and conduct inspection on the indicator. The high-voltage electroscope that is inspected and put into use must pass the electrical test.
For rotary high-voltage electroscopes, before use, the tested indicator should be screwed onto the insulating rod and fixed, and its surface should be wiped clean with silk cloth, and then rotated to the required angle for easy observation during use.
For capacitive high-voltage electroscopes, the insulating rod is marked with a red line. The part above the red line indicates that it contains a capacitive element
and is a live part. This part must be in accordance with the requirements of the "Electrical Industry Safety Work Regulations". Keep a necessary safety distance near conductors or grounding bodies.
