Appearance inspection must be carried out before the valve is installed. For valves whose working pressure is greater than that of the main pipe and which have a cutting function on the main pipe, strength and tightness tests should be carried out, and they can only be used after passing the test.
During the strength test, the test pressure shall be times the nominal pressure and the duration shall not be less than that. The valve shell packing shall have no leakage.
During the tightness test, the test pressure, which is twice the nominal pressure, should remain unchanged for the duration of the test. The time should comply with the provisions of the table. The valve disc sealing surface is deemed to be qualified if there is no leakage.
