Characteristics
It has high strength and elasticity after proper heat treatment or cold work hardening. Poor weldability, easy to form cracks, not suitable for welding, poor machinability, cold deformation, low plasticity, poor hardenability. Generally, oil quenching is used for large cross-section parts, water quenching, oil cooling or normalizing are used. Its characteristic is that its fatigue strength is comparable to alloy spring steel under the same configuration.
Medium and high carbon spring steel. After heat treatment or cold work hardening, the steel has high strength, hardness and elasticity, low cold deformation plasticity and poor weldability. Generally, oil quenching is used for large cross-section parts, which are hardened by water quenching, oil cooling or normalizing treatment.
Application Examples
Used for manufacturing springs, spring rings, various washers, clutches, and manufacturing shafts, rolls, eccentric shafts, etc. in general machinery.
