Maotai cellar
Maotai originated from three traditional charcoal workshops in Ronghe, Chengyi and Hengxing. The three charcoal workshops were established in Maotai Town before the liberation. In the fifth year of Guangxu period (1918), the landlords Shi Rongxiao and Sun Quantai of Renhuai were established. Together with Tianhe Hao, they jointly invested in and opened a Shaofang, named Rongtaihe Shaofang, which later developed into Ronghe Shaofang and then established Chengyi Shaofang. Ronghe and Chengyi jointly developed a Maotai puree cellar wine carefully brewed with the highest quality sorghum and wheat at the time. It is called Maojiangjiao for short, and the names of the two burning houses are engraved on the bottle seal to distinguish it.
Maojiao is produced in Renhuai County, the hometown of Maojiu, using high-quality sorghum and wheat as raw materials and using the traditional unique craftsmanship of Maotai-flavor famous wine.
