Characteristics
Bearing steel has good comprehensive properties. After quenching and tempering, it has high and uniform hardness, good wear resistance and high contact fatigue strength. Steel has good hot workability and good machinability after spheroidizing annealing. Bearing steel has good toughness, good tempering stability, and small deformation during heat treatment. The carbide distribution in this steel is uniform, and the carbide network is not easy to precipitate, and it is easy to eliminate by normalizing. The network and coarse carbide structures can be eliminated by normalizing. However, the compressive strength and wear resistance are insufficient, and the processability is poor. When a decarburized layer with a carbon content of .%.% remains on the surface of this steel, the overheating sensitivity of the surface layer increases due to the reduction of carbides. After normal heating and quenching, the surface hardness can still be reached, but its flexural strength is reduced by %%. The grain size of the surface layer reaches grade 1, and the core part reaches grade 1. This steel has good forging properties. Because it is easy to decarburize, it needs to be heated in a neutral atmosphere or protective atmosphere furnace. By applying forging heat quenching and tempering treatment, a fine tempered sorbite structure can be obtained, which simplifies the process, saves time and energy, and has both good cutting performance and ideal waste heat treatment structure. The thermal softening temperature of this steel is ℃, its hardenability is better than that of chromium steel, and its oil quenching hardenability is deep. The zero-insulation quenching and toughening process of this steel can eliminate the early failure of the wire rubbing plate caused by oxidation and decarburization due to conventional quenching and heating. Uneven austenite repair can refine the martensite. After rubbing, cryptocrystalline martensite or Fine needle-like martensite, this structure is strong and tough.
Uses
It is suitable for making various bearing rings with wall thickness, outer diameter, steel ball diameter, cone, spherical roller diameter and needle rollers of all sizes. It can also be used to make measuring tools, molds and woodworking tools. Manufacture of internal combustion engines. Steel balls, rollers and bushings on transmission shafts of electric locomotives, machine tools, tractors, steel rolling equipment, drilling machines, railway vehicles and mining machinery.
