Xinglong chrysanthemum stone is produced in Xinglong County, Chengde City, Hebei Province. This stone is a special kind of rhyolite chrysanthemum stone. Its appearance is the same as ordinary rhyolite, but there are many clear chrysanthemum-like patterns on the rock. Among them, the chrysanthemum pattern is composed of the agglomeration of feldspar and quartz crystals and some minerals containing iron and magnesium. Together with the flow of magma, the crystals form hanging drops, and after agglomeration, they form radioactive flowers.
The quality of red wax jelly is also divided into three, six or nine grades, ranging from dark red to bright red, and the bright red that shines under high temperature is the most beautiful color. The best-quality red wax jelly also requires a transparent texture and no impurities. The less stone skin (surface impurities) the better, the appearance is perfect, and the artistic taste is high. Stalagmite, also known as ginkgo stone, is produced in Yushan County, Shangrao City, Jiangxi Province and other places. The stone has a slender and upright shape, resembling a bamboo shoot, hence its name. The texture is hard but soft. There are some pebbles deposited in the bluish-gray fine rock, especially the ginkgo embedded in it. The color is blue-grey, light gray, green, earthy red, purple-brown, etc. The appearance looks like pine. The skin is often weathered on three sides, and the color and texture are more natural and attractive. There are often sharp angular shapes at the fractures of the stone. Older ones are preferred. Natural stalagmites are rare and precious.
