The rock electric drill is composed of a motor, a reduction box and a runway. The motor and the reduction box are integrated into a host machine and work on the runway through sprockets and chains.

The motor is a three-phase AC squirrel-cage self-fan air-cooled asynchronous motor. The reduction box has three output shafts (refer to the transmission series diagram). One drives the drill pipe to rotate, and the other two symmetrical worm shafts use a single-head left-hand worm gear system and a double-sided friction clutch to make the main engine move forward slowly on the runway through the double-head right-hand worm gear system. The spiral worm gear system and double-sided friction clutch enable the main engine to return quickly on the runway.
