"Engineering Index" is published in printed version (journal format), electronic version (tape) and microfilm. We select multiple journals, conference proceedings, science and technology report standard books and other publications from dozens of countries and regions in the world in the field of engineering technology. There are more than 10,000 reported documents annually. It is the world's oldest source of engineering abstracts. The 10,000 pieces of abstract index information added to the database every year come from various engineering journals, conference proceedings and technical reports. The included documents cover all engineering fields, of which approximately 100 are conference documents. The language of the documents is English.
As a world-wide engineering literature retrieval system, it pays more attention to engineering technology journals and papers from various countries and continuously updates the journal varieties. We have made statistics on the annual situation of Chinese journals included and found that although the total number of Chinese journals included in the year has reached 10, there are only a few journals that have been included for more than 10 consecutive years. Most of the journals are in a state of change, and some have even been eliminated. The purpose of journal selection is academic rigor and the criteria of high level, practicality, quality, timely publication. Despite the information explosion in today's world, quality control is still strictly controlled to ensure that it is better to have less than too much.
