Engineering Index was founded in 2006 and is one of the authoritative search tools in the field of engineering technology. The types of documents included include journals, conferences, scientific reports and monographs. Purely theoretical articles and patents on basic research are not included. It was the first retrieval tool to realize machine inspection. The electronic version was released in 2007, and the Engineering Information Village was launched in 2005. Since then, it has provided online version services and added more content. Therefore, the papers retrieved on the platform include two situations: (core) and (non-core). The main difference between the two is whether there are classification codes and subject headings in it. Those with these two contents are core, otherwise they are non-core.
Starting from this year, the Chinese journals included in the database are no longer divided into core and non-core, that is, what was said before has been cancelled.
