●Characteristics and scope of application:
The most commonly used Superduralumin is a high-strength alloy that can be strengthened by heat treatment. It is usually used in the quenched artificial aging state. At this time, the strength is much higher than that of ordinary hard aluminum, but the plasticity is lower. Extruded semi-finished products and aluminum-clad plates with not too thick cross sections have good corrosion resistance and have a tendency of stress concentration. The weldability of spot welding is good, gas welding is poor, and the machinability is good after heat treatment and low in the annealed state.
It is an ultra-high-strength aluminum alloy, also known as superduralumin. It is the most mature, longest-used and most widely used alloy among superduralumins. High strength, good heat treatment strengthening effect, medium plasticity in the annealed and newly quenched states. Unlike hard aluminum, the corrosion resistance in the artificial aging state is better than that in the natural aging state, and the natural aging process is slow and takes 3 months. The age hardening peak can only be reached after quenching, so it is used in the quenching artificial aging state. Its disadvantages are low structural stability, low low-frequency fatigue strength, and tendency to stress corrosion cracking. The alloy spot welding has good weldability but poor gas welding. The machinability after heat treatment is good, but the machinability after annealing is not good.
