The working principle of the start-stop sensor:
Using the method of measuring the magnetic field to indirectly measure the working status of the equipment. A magnetic field must be generated around an energized conductor. By detecting whether there is a magnetic field around the cable, that is, by detecting whether there is current passing through the cable, the on/off status of the equipment can be identified.
Downhole electromechanical equipment is powered by three-phase power. The three-phase core wires in the cable are divided into symmetrical and asymmetrical. On the outer sheath of the cable, you can always find a point that is unequal to the three-phase core wires. This point forms a The magnetic field is dominated by the core wires that are close together.
Using the detection coil in the sensor head, close to one phase core wire in the cable, the weak magnetic induction signal can be measured. The larger the power supply current, the stronger the induced signal.
The induced signal will then go through amplification, detection, signal conversion and signal output to transmit the equipment start and stop information to the information substation, and then from the substation to the ground.
Structural features of the start/stop sensor:
The sensor adopts an intrinsically safe structure and has no direct electrical connection with the device under test. When using it, the sensor only needs to be directly fixed on the outer sheath of the power supply cable of the device under test. That’s it, it’s very convenient to install, use and adjust.
The sensor shell is made of engineering plastics and pressed with a mold, and the fixing clip secures the sensor to the cable sheath. The casing has a transparent window through which green and red LEDs can be observed. When lit, they respectively indicate the start and stop status of the device.
There is a potentiometer for adjusting the amplification factor on the circuit board, which is used to adjust the sensitivity of the detection signal.
