Material characteristics
This steel has good hot and cold processing properties, high thermal strength and good cold and hot fatigue resistance. This steel has good wear resistance and hardenability, and has certain impact resistance.
Due to the high working temperature of copper alloy die-casting molds, 3 high alloy hot work mold steel is used, with a heat treatment hardness of about 10%. In order to improve the corrosion resistance of the mold, the mold can be nitrided.
In order to reduce the wear of the mold and avoid overheating of the mold during use, proper lubrication and water cooling are effective measures to increase the service life of the mold. In order to reduce the thermal fatigue damage of the mold, this alloy mold steel mainly composed of chromium and molybdenum is more suitable for forced cooling by water spray during use.
