Lion dance is an excellent folk art in our country. During festivals or gatherings and celebrations, people perform lion dance to add to the fun. Lion dances can be divided into north and south. In the south, Guangdong's lion dance is the most famous. The lion is made from strips of colorful cloth. Each lion has two people performing together, one dancing the head and one dancing the tail. Performers dress up as lions and perform various lion movements to the music of gongs and drums. During the performance, the lion dancers use various moves to express southern martial arts, which is very masculine. As a performing art, lion dance is believed to have taken shape during the Northern Wei Dynasty 1,500 years ago, when the Huns in the north invaded and caused chaos. They specially made many wooden and stone sculptures, sewed gold thread and linen into a lion body, and sent good dancers to Wei to pay tribute, intending to stab the Wei Emperor during the lion dance. Fortunately, their loyal ministers saw through it, and they retreated. Later, because Emperor Wei liked lion dance, he ordered it to be imitated, and its pragmatism was passed down to future generations. Yang Xuanzhi's "Luoyang Jialan Ji" records that when the Buddha statue in Changqiu Temple in Luoyang was traveling, there was a lion to ward off evil spirits and guide it. Lion dance is a traditional Asian folk performing art in which performers dress up as lions and perform various lion movements to the music of gongs and drums. Chinese folk tradition believes that lion dance can drive away evil spirits and ward off ghosts. Therefore, during every festive festival, such as the New Year Celebration, the Spring Festival Competition, etc., people like to play gongs and drums and perform lion dances to help celebrate. Lion dance has also become world-famous with Chinese immigrants overseas. Lion dance is quite popular in Malaysia, Singapore and other places as well as in Chinatowns in various countries. However, folk lion dances in mainland China have actually been declining. Overseas Chinese living in Europe and the United States have also formed many lion dance clubs. Every year during the Spring Festival or major festive occasions, they will celebrate with lion dances around the world R_3R$ 3. />
