Quality Management System
The quality management system is formulated by the International Organization for Standardization (International Organization for Standardization). The organization is the world's leading non-governmental international standardization organization. It was established after World War II and is headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland. The purpose of the organization is to promote the development of standardization and related work worldwide to facilitate international trade exchanges and services and to develop cooperation in knowledge, science, technology and economic activities to promote the globalization of trade in products and services. The international standards developed by the organization are recognized globally by many member countries and regions of the organization.
The quality assurance standard was born from the military standards used in US military products. After the Second World War, the U.S. Department of Defense learned from the experience and lessons of the quality of military products in the Second World War and decided to implement quality assurance in the ordering of arms and munitions. That is, the supplier must not only meet the requirements of the demander when producing the ordered goods. Technical requirements ensure the physical quality of the product, and the quality must be controlled according to the quality assurance clauses proposed at the time of ordering and included in the contract, and documents proving quality control must be submitted when submitting the goods. This approach has resulted in great success in promoting total quality management among contractors. After the quality assurance standards were quoted in civilian product orders, the United Kingdom developed a set of quality assurance standards, namely B.
