In order to prevent lifeboat accidents, according to the Convention Regarding the safety of the lifeboat release and recovery system (hereinafter referred to as the lifeboat hook system) equipped on the ship, a set of amendments to the Convention and life-saving equipment regulations and related documents were adopted at the first maritime safety meeting in 2018. This set of amendments and related documents applies to the lifeboat (and applicable rescue boat) lifeboat and hook systems installed on all ships (including existing and new passenger ships and cargo ships).
Implementation requirements
