In the condensation cycle of the equipment, there is a water storage tank at the bottom of the box, which is heated to generate water vapor. The product of this condensation is very stable pure distilled water. This pure water improves test reproducibility while avoiding water damage problems.
Since outdoor exposure to moisture can last up to several hours a day, the moisture cycle of the UV accelerated weathering tester generally lasts several hours. We recommend that each condensation cycle last a minimum of hours. Note that the exposure and condensation exposure in the equipment are performed separately, which is consistent with the actual climate conditions.
For some applications, water spray can better simulate the environmental conditions of end use. Water spray is extremely useful in simulating mechanical erosion caused by drastic changes in temperature and washout by rain.
