Ultra-high molecular polyethylene, whose English name is r, is a thermoplastic engineering plastic with a molecular weight higher than 10,000. The longer molecular chain and higher molecular weight give it the main advantage of toughness, wear resistance and stress crack resistance. Since it is a type of polyethylene, it also has lubricity and chemical resistance. It has excellent electrical properties and universal properties, and its successful development is generally considered to be one of the top ten scientific and technological achievements of the century.
The plate has excellent wear resistance, good low-temperature impact resistance, self-lubricating, non-toxic, water-resistant, chemical-resistant, and better-than-average heat resistance. The disadvantage is that it has low heat resistance, low thermal deformation temperature, and poor processing and formability. The surface hardness, rigidity and toughness are good, but the creep resistance is not as good as that of ordinary engineering plastics, and the expansion coefficient is relatively large.
