One Principle
According to the principle that soft and hard wheat have different resistance to mechanical crushing. When crushing, hard wheat is not easy to turn into powder, while soft wheat is easy to turn into powder. The sample is crushed under specified conditions. The ratio of the sample mass on the sieve to the total sample mass determines the hardness of the wheat.
The wheat hardness index tester uses a motor to drive a grinding knife installed on the outer surface of the rotor. The grinding knife and the outer cutter disc produce shearing and impact crushing effects on the sample to crush the sample. At the same time, the high-speed rotating rotor blades generate a centrifugal airflow field in the crushing chamber. The crushed powder particles enter the hopper through the screen under the centrifugal impact of the airflow field with the rotor and itself. During a certain crushing time, the quality of wheat grains with different hardness passing through the screen is different. The hardness of wheat is characterized by the percentage value of the mass of powder grains retained on the screen to the mass of the test wheat sample, which is referred to as "hardness".
