Nowadays, extruders usually use electric heating, which is divided into resistance heating and induction heating. The heating sheets are installed on each part of the fuselage, neck and head. The heating device heats the plastic in the cylinder from the outside to reach the temperature required for the process operation.
The cooling device is set up to ensure that the plastic is within the temperature range required by the process. Specifically, it is to eliminate the excess heat generated by the shear friction of the screw rotation, so as to prevent the plastic from decomposing and scorching due to excessive temperature or making it difficult to shape. Barrel cooling is divided into two types: water cooling and air cooling. Generally, air cooling is more suitable for small and medium-sized extruders. For large-scale extruders, water cooling or a combination of the two forms of cooling are mostly used. Center water cooling is mainly used for screw cooling. The purpose is to increase the solid material delivery rate. Stabilize the glue output and improve product quality at the same time. However, the cooling at the hopper is to strengthen the transportation of solid materials and prevent the plastic particles from becoming sticky and blocking the material opening due to temperature rise. The second is to ensure the normal operation of the transmission part.
