But this is not actually the case, because there is also parasitic capacitance on the actual magnetic ring, which exists in parallel with the inductor. When high-frequency interference signals are encountered, the capacitive reactance of the capacitor is small, short-circuiting the inductance of the magnetic ring, thereby rendering the common mode choke ineffective.
