Bringing security and performance breakthroughs to the price-sensitive automatic toll collection and access management market. It is a new addition to NXP Semiconductors' product portfolio and features multi-level protection including advanced encryption and can be easily upgraded from existing implementations.

Backward compatibility allows seamless introduction of smart cards into existing implementations. By upgrading the system infrastructure, service operators can easily switch cards used in their facilities to higher security levels without having to revoke or reissue the cards. Security is at the core of the chip that is the only smart card of its kind to provide strong encryption based on bit key length for authentication, integrity and confidentiality. Chips also have several security features that, when ideally used in infrastructure, can provide systems that prevent individuals from being identified and tracked by others.
The above functions can be achieved by supporting a unique identifier followed by a secure random identifier. It also adds an original feature that improves card verification performance and proactively protects against emulators.
