Arc Equipment
When a small circuit breaker is commonly used to break a circuit, it mechanically separates the movable contact and the fixed contact of the small circuit breaker. When closing, the opposite mechanical movement is used to close the movable contact and the fixed contact. When making and breaking load circuits, arcs will occur between the fixed contacts and the moving contacts. The arc generated during the breaking process is much more severe than that during the closing process. When the breaking current is very large, especially when breaking a short circuit, the arc is very large and it is often very difficult to break the circuit.
