维护与保养具体可分为：
⑴年间维护：每半年到一年作一次，用清洗剂清除各种污垢，对抛光面石材（特别是大理石、九龙玉）可用石材保护剂或大理石抛光剂结合机器进行处理。
⑵每日日常石材养护：吸尘器吸过，再用抹布或拖把蘸清水擦拭即可，在有污垢的地方，使用抹布或拖把配合清洗剂的稀释液擦拭。
⑶月间维护：每两周到一月作一次，使用抹布或拖把配合石材专用清洗剂擦拭。（注意：这时请勿使用一般市售的清洁剂清洗）
石材是一种非常高贵的天然建材，养护的方法也比较特别，光是清洗就必须使用石材专用清洗剂，普通的清洗剂不但无法达到效果，还会将一部分的氟化物留在石材内，因而伤害了石材，所以建议在保养石材请用专用清洗剂。另外，要避免：氟酸、酸性氟化尿素、草酸、磷酸、工业用双氧水、硫酸、盐酸。因为它们含有大量氟化物的清洗剂或有强酸腐蚀性的清洗剂，会伤害石材，加速石材的老化或使其失去光泽。
