Thermistor soft start cabinet is suitable for soft starting and protection devices of large and medium-sized cage asynchronous motors or synchronous motors with three-phase AC and rated operating voltage, especially in industrial and mining enterprises with insufficient power grid capacity.
The working principle and characteristics of the thermistor soft start cabinet
A special thermistor is inserted in series into the stator circuit or star point side of the controlled motor. The thermistor utilizes the negative temperature characteristics of the resistance fluid. To achieve a soft starting device with constant small current and steady increase in speed during motor starting.
The starting performance of this device is better than that of reactor starting and auto-coupling voltage reduction starting. Compared with the other devices, the structure is simpler. However, changes in ambient temperature or temperature changes of the liquid resistance itself during continuous starting have a certain impact on the starting current.
