Static electricity safety protection for oil tankers
Copy
Prevent personal charges from being charged. During loading and unloading operations, the human body must come into contact with the work object (gas truck) to generate friction, which will easily generate static electricity and may form electrostatic discharge. If flammable and explosive oil vapor happens to be encountered at this time, it will An explosion may occur. Operators must wear anti-static overalls and anti-static shoes during operation, the purpose of which is to ground the human body. In addition, the shoes worn should be thin nylon socks or other conductive socks. It is strictly forbidden to paste insulating film on the anti-static soles and should be inspected regularly.

Static grounding cannot be ignored. From the perspective of a fuel truck, the main areas where static electricity is generated are pump filters and pipes. The amount of static electricity generated by the tanker filling system is much higher than that of above-ground pipes. For static electricity hazards, the following measures must be taken
① Connect the ground wire before filling the oil, and frequently check its integrity and whether the ground resistance meets the anti-static standards.
② When filling oil, the crane pipe must be extended to the bottom of the oil tank. The distance between the pipe mouth and the bottom of the tank should be kept at left and right, and the initial filling speed should be strictly controlled within 1/2 until the oil outlet is submerged, and then the flow rate can be gradually increased. However, the maximum flow rate must not be exceeded to prevent electrostatic accidents caused by splashing
③After the oil is installed, the grounding must be disconnected after the oil has stabilized. Because after the oil is installed, the oil level potential will be maintained for several minutes due to the flow of oil in the tank.

Attention should also be paid to accidents caused by oil conversion. This kind of accident mainly occurs when a tank filled with gasoline is used to hold diesel. The flash point of gasoline is lower than that of diesel. If diesel is injected into a tank containing gasoline vapor, the gasoline vapor will be reduced due to absorption by the poured diesel. Small pressure, then air is sucked into the tank, and a flammable mixture is formed somewhere between the liquid surface and the air suction point. An explosion may occur when static electricity accumulates and discharges. Therefore, when it is necessary to change the oil filling, the gasoline in the tank must be cleared first, and the operation must be carried out in strict accordance with the operating procedures.
