Chiang Kai-shek selected important works of cultural relics in the Forbidden City, brought them to Taiwan, and established the Taipei National Palace Museum.
This series of events has truly proved how culture is manipulated by politics, diplomacy and war.
But I dare not express such a view in front of the director of the Forbidden City.
However, I always felt uneasy in my heart. The Japan Exhibition at the National Palace Museum in Taipei officially started on October 1, but during the preparation stage of the exhibition, I had a hunch that the National Palace Museum in Taipei and the Tokyo National Museum placed too much emphasis on cultural exchanges and somewhat underestimated the political elements of the National Palace Museum issue.
