Review of previous exhibitions The Egyptian Textile Exhibition has been held for many years. It is an internationally renowned exhibition certified by the International Federation of Exhibitions. With international and domestic support, the exhibition has become bigger and more famous. Today it has developed into the only professional and free trade event in the textile and apparel manufacturing industry. The last area of square meters was attended by 100 exhibitors, attracting visitors from Spain, Brazil, Chile, Italy, Germany, Turkey, Syria, Pakistan, Jordan, Lebanon and other countries. The number of visitors reached more than 100,000 professional domestic and foreign trade booths. Good trade relations with China Among African countries, Egypt is the first country to establish diplomatic relations with China. The economic and trade cooperation between China and Egypt has maintained a rapid and healthy development momentum in recent years. Affected by the international financial crisis, the bilateral trade volume between China and Egypt dropped to US$100 million year-on-year, but the situation was better compared with other countries in the region. In addition, Egypt's exports to China reached a year-on-year growth of 100 million U.S. dollars and maintained a rapid development momentum. Even in the face of the impact of the international financial crisis, it has still achieved impressive results and has become a highlight of China-Africa cooperation.
Current situation of the domestic industry The Egyptian textile and garment industry is an important industrial sector in Egypt, accounting for national industrial output and national exports. The import tax on asset equipment is very low, especially clothing machinery, textile machinery parts, chemicals and dyeing products, etc. Imports are duty-free. Under the free trade agreement signed with the EU, Egyptian textiles and clothing exports to EU countries are duty-free. The condition is that products exported from Egypt to Europe start from the spinning process, while exports from Europe to Egypt start from the fabric printing process. Duty-free textiles and clothing exports from Egypt can be made from yarn originating in Egypt or from other countries within the EU or the Euro-Mediterranean Agreement. At the same time, the competitiveness of Egyptian textile and clothing exports lies only in the short delivery times used to export to these countries.
