Developed for cleaning and disinfecting peripheral equipment. This product is widely used and regular use can prevent biofilm from forming on the membrane surface. It can also be used as a highly effective protective agent to protect the membrane to be used during long-term interruptions in operation. The phenomenon of biological growth in membrane systems is very common in the reverse osmosis industry, causing the nominal permeate water flow rate to decrease, the inlet water pressure to increase, and the salt rejection rate to decrease, resulting in a serious deterioration in the operating efficiency of the reverse osmosis system. It is precisely due to biological fouling that the inlet water interception pressure difference increases, resulting in reduced operating efficiency. If this situation is not dealt with, it will lead to permanent damage to the membrane material. Due to the increase in pressure difference caused by biofouling, a low flow rate state is formed on the membrane surface, thereby exacerbating colloidal scaling, inorganic scaling and the proliferation of microorganisms. In the early stages of biological growth, the nominal permeate effluent flow rate decreases and the inlet water interception pressure difference increases while the salt rejection rate remains unchanged or slightly increases. When the biofilm gradually forms, the salt rejection rate begins to decrease, and colloidal scaling and inorganic scaling will also increase. Biological growth does not only occur in the first or second section, but will grow comprehensively throughout the entire membrane system, and the growth will be accelerated under certain conditions. Biological growth should be checked in the pretreatment unit, especially carbon beds, filters and related piping.
