On September 1, the reporter learned from the Autonomous Region Education Admissions and Examination Center that the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region will not accept candidates with certain honors, titles, awards, or candidates with special status such as ethnic minorities and children of returned overseas Chinese. Certain policy considerations are given in college entrance examination admissions, and a score is added to the total score, which is collectively referred to as policy consideration, commonly known as extra points.
Although the total score of candidates who enjoy policy-based care conditions has been improved through extra points, not all institutions recognize this score, which requires special attention. Some colleges and universities recognize policy bonus points, some do not recognize bonus points, some recognize partial bonus points, some recognize bonus points but stipulate that the maximum cumulative bonus points cannot exceed a certain value, and some use bare bones in professional admissions. They will be queued up in separate queues but candidates with the same score will be given priority for admission.
For example, the annual undergraduate admissions regulations of a certain institution clearly stipulate that candidates who enjoy the bonus point policy can apply for bonus points according to the regulations of the provincial (autonomous region, municipality) admissions office, but the original scores will be used when enrolling in majors. (excluding policy bonus points) shall prevail. In the above example, the school will subtract the policy-based care points when admitting students, and then queue up with bare points.
So, for candidates who want to apply for the above-mentioned colleges and universities, are extra points useless? Extra points are still useful. For example, a candidate's bare score may not reach the cut-off line of a certain college, but after adding points, he may reach the cut-off line, and then obtain the entry qualification of the college, but it is only the entry qualification. Is it possible? Being admitted also depends on the admission rules of the school. If the school of choice does not recognize the extra points, the candidates will have to wait in line with bare points. During the actual application process, after subtracting the bonus points, the candidate is often no longer within the enrollment plan of the institution, and the institution will withdraw the application.
Candidates must carefully study the admissions regulations of the institution when filling in their application. It is a pity to make mistakes in this link and be rejected by the institution. Of course, most colleges still recognize extra points.
