PTFE flasks usually have the appearance of a round belly and a thin neck, which is obviously different from a beaker. Its narrow mouth is used to prevent the solution from splashing or reducing the evaporation of the solution, and can be used with a rubber stopper to connect other PTFE equipment. When the solution needs to react for a long time or be heated and refluxed, a polytetrafluoroethylene flask is generally chosen as the container. The opening of the flask does not have a protruding gap like a beaker. When pouring the solution, it is easier to flow down along the outer wall. Therefore, a PTFE stirring rod is usually used to lightly touch the mouth of the bottle to prevent the solution from flowing down along the outer wall. Because the flask has a very narrow mouth, it is not suitable for stirring with a PTFE stirring rod. If stirring is needed, you can hold the mouth of the bottle and turn your wrist slightly to stir smoothly and evenly. If it is heated to reflux, a magnetic stirrer can be placed in the bottle and stirred with a heated stirrer. Flasks can be divided into two types: flat-bottomed flasks and round-bottomed flasks depending on their appearance. as the picture shows. Usually flat-bottomed flasks are used for reactions at room temperature, while round-bottomed flasks are used for reactions at higher temperatures. This is because the thickness of the PTFE material in the round-bottom flask is relatively uniform and can withstand large temperature changes.
Safe use methods
① It should be placed on an asbestos net and heated so that it is heated evenly. There should be no water droplets on the outer wall of the flask.
② The flat-bottomed flask cannot be used for heating for a long time.
③ When not heating, if a flat-bottomed flask is used as the reaction vessel, there is no need to fix it with an iron stand.

Precautions for use
An asbestos net should be placed when heating, or other heat baths can be used for heating. When heating, the liquid volume shall not exceed / of the volume and shall not be less than / of the volume.
When configuring accessories such as thermometers, appropriate rubber plugs should be used, and special attention should be paid to check whether the air tightness is good.
When distilling, it is best to add a small amount of zeolite to the bottom of the bottle in advance to prevent bumping.
When heating, it should be placed on an asbestos net to allow it to be heated evenly.
After the distillation is completed, the piston must be closed first and then the heating stopped to prevent back suction.
