Augers are commonly used for drilling in soft formations. It is a dry rotary drilling method that uses a reducer to drive the auger drill rod during drilling (the auger drill rod is a cylindrical rod welded with spiral blades in the shape of a twist drill rod connected to a wing-shaped drill bit), and the drill bit rotates under the action of the drilling pressure. It enters the stratum and cuts the next layer according to the spiral line. The scraped soil debris is transported back up to the hole along the spiral blade.
