Too low fatigue life will lead to a decrease in the stability and corrosion resistance of the bellows. Based on testing and usage experience, the fatigue life of bellows used in heating projects should be no less than 10 times.
Corrugated pipes cannot bear loads and should be hoisted separately. Except for pre-stretching or cold-tightening pre-deformation required by the design, it is strictly forbidden to deform the bellows to adjust the installation deviation of the pipe. Do not allow welding slag to splash onto the corrugations during the installation process. All movable components of corrugated pipes that are subject to other mechanical damage to the pipe surface shall not be stuck by external components or restrict the normal operation of their movable parts.
Most bellows failures are caused by corrosion from the external environment. Therefore, when designing the structure of the compensator, you can consider isolating the contact between the external corrosive medium and the bellows. For example, for the external pressure axial type compensator, a packing seal device can be added between the outlet end ring and the outlet pipe. Its function is equivalent to a sleeve compensator. It can not only resist the intrusion of external corrosive media, but also add a seal to the bellows compensator. Safety barrier, even if the bellows is damaged, the compensator can also compensate and prevent the bellows from failing.
