Crizotinib is more effective in treating positive advanced non-small cell lung cancer

Recently, the England Medical Journal officially published the results of the R trial. The R trial is a phase one study using the anaplastic lymphoma kinase inhibitor Xacori® (crizotinib) to treat patients with positive advanced non-small cell lung cancer without a history of previous treatment. These findings confirm that twice-daily mg of Xalkori significantly extends progression-free survival compared with standard platinum-based chemotherapy in patients with positive, advanced disease without a history of prior treatment. The adverse effects of Xalkori are consistent with the known safety profile of the drug.
This study shows that Xalkori is significantly more effective than standard platinum-based chemotherapy in patients with positive advanced disease who have no previous treatment history. The first author of the research paper is Peter McCarron from Melbourne, Australia. Dr. B from the Cancer Center (rrr) said that for all newly diagnosed patients, it is very important to detect the genetic recombination status of tumor tissue as early as possible before choosing the most appropriate treatment plan, and these research data emphasize the importance of such testing.
