According to the author's investigation, most clogged drippers after fertilization are related to the failure to rinse in time after fertilization.
The pressure difference required by the fertilizer tank is obtained by the control valve between the water inlet and the water outlet. Because the irrigation time is usually longer than the fertilizer application time, the shut-off valve should be fully open when no fertilizer is applied. Regularly adjusting the valve may lead to inconsistent pressure differences for each fertilization (especially when the pressure gauge range is too large, the judgment is inaccurate), thus making the fertilization time inaccurate. In order to obtain a constant pressure difference, the shut-off valve can be eliminated and replaced with a flow meter (water meter). When water flows through the water meter, it creates a small pressure difference, which is used by the fertilizer tank. When no fertilizer is applied, the thin tubes at both ends of the fertilizer tank are closed, and the pressure difference on the main pipe still exists.
