Basis for material selection of special pipeline centrifugal pumps for concentrated acid.
Special steel for concentrated acid centrifugal pumps is widely used in ~ flowing acid, and the temperature can reach ℃. In the acid flow of this concentration and temperature range, the surface of steel can produce a protective acid flow iron film. Cast iron is not suitable for use with excess fume acid, probably due to the reaction of sulfur trioxide with the silicon contained in the iron, making the cast iron brittle. Carbon steel is not suitable for fuming acids of ~~, but is suitable for acids exceeding 10°C. The temperature limit is about ℃. The dilute flow is very corrosive to steel. When the acid concentration is around 100%, the corrosion rate reaches the highest value. When the acid concentration is greater than 1, the corrosion rate of steel is significantly reduced. However, in this concentration, it is better not to use steel, and it is safer to use lead or other dilute acid-resistant materials.
