dm. Ingredients: Contains volatile oil, a small amount of saponins, pigments and starch. The main components of volatile oil are d-borneol (dBr), d-camphor (dm) and cineole cymene.
dm. The complete fruit or seeds of the perennial herbaceous plant of Zingiberaceae (Zbr), or its dry powder, scientific name is rdmmm. Used as a spice, it is slightly spicy and tastes like camphor. In the East, it is a condiment for dishes, especially curry dishes. In Scandinavia it is often used to season pasta.
dm. This plant is native to the humid forests of southern India. The wild fruits can be harvested and are now cultivated in large quantities in India, Sri Lanka and Guatemala. The above-ground part is leafy and grows from branched rhizomes. The flower branches are about meters (~ feet) long. They are upright or creeping. Each flower branch bears many flowers. The flower diameter is about centimeters (inches). The petals are Green, white lips with purple veins. The complete fruit is ~mm in diameter and is a green trihedral broadly oval capsule containing ~ hard and ribbed seeds that are black, reddish-brown to brown-black. Pick before ripeness, clean, and sun or dry. Bleached with burning sulfur, dried, and peeled, the shelled dried cardamom is obtained. The essential oil is contained in the large parenchyma cells under the epidermis of the seed coat, and the content is ~%. The main components are cineole and dz acid pine oil. The spices produced by plants in other genera of the Zingiberaceae family (such as Cardamom [mmm], Alpine [], and rmmm) are sometimes also called cardamom and are used in cooking in Africa and Asia, or sold as real cardamom.
