It is a yellow or brown powder with a grain-like smell and hygroscopicity. Soluble in dimethylformamide, slightly soluble in methanol, very slightly soluble in water, insoluble in acetone, chloroform or ether.
The stability is unstable to light, air, acid and alkali, and the aqueous solution is extremely unstable. The effect may be lost after being stored at degrees Celsius.
Pharmacological effects: This product is a polyene antifungal drug with broad-spectrum antifungal effects. It is a membrane permeability enhancer and is the most sensitive to Candida. Aspergillus, Trichophyton, Stenococcus, Epidermophyton and Microsporum are sensitive to this product. Usually the minimum inhibitory concentration is micrograms/ml. This product also has antibacterial activity against Coccidioides and Histoplasma. It also has an inhibitory effect on trichomonas. The mechanism of action is to combine with specific sterols on the fungal cell membrane, causing damage to the plasma membrane and changes in permeability, causing important cell contents to leak out and die, thereby killing the fungus.
Usage: It is mainly used for oral administration to treat fungal infections of the digestive tract or external use for superficial skin fungal infections. Such as fungal gastritis in cattle, cyst mycosis in chickens and turkeys, etc., and milk duct infusion is also effective for mastitis caused by Aspergillus and Mucor. Spray inhalation is also effective against pneumonia in chicks caused by Aspergillus fumigatus. This product is also used for fungal secondary infections caused by long-term use of broad-spectrum antibiotics.
