Chromium partially dissolves into iron in molybdenum to form a continuous solid solution. During phase transformation, chromium hinders the migration of carbon atoms and delays the incubation period of austenite transformation, thus improving the hardenability of ball mill accessories. Chromium makes the ball mill lining The isothermal transformation properties of the plate change and the bainite transformation zone moves to lower temperatures, resulting in the separation of pearlite and bainite transformation zones. The carbon content of the eutectoid structure in chromium steel and the limit concentration of carbon in austenite are both lower than that of carbon steel. Therefore, the amount of eutectoids and secondary carbides in the ball mill lining plate can be increased.
The actual concentration of chromium in austenite affects point temperature and tempering stability. Increasing the chromium content reduces the point temperature of copper, but the effect is smaller than that of carbon and manganese. The amount of retained austenite increases after quenching of ball mill lining plates with higher chromium content. Chromium enhances the tempering stability of the ball mill liner, and chromium steel generally needs to be tempered at a higher temperature. During medium temperature tempering, due to the decomposition of a large amount of retained austenite during cooling, the ball mill lining plate will undergo secondary hardening.
