Drug interactions
& Adverse reactions may occur when combined with polyether antibiotics such as monensin and salinomycin.
When used with antibiotics that can bind to bacterial ribosomal subunits, such as clindamycin, lincomycin, erythromycin, and tylosin, the efficacy will be reduced due to competition for the site of action.
Caution
This product is prohibited to be used in combination with polyether antibiotics, as it can cause drug poisoning, retardation of chicken growth, ataxia, paralysis, and death. Although the reaction in pigs is mild, it should not be used together.
This product is safer to take internally to chickens and pigs. Can tolerate twice the oral dosage. However, reactions such as skin redness may occur occasionally. Overdosage can cause transient salivation, vomiting and central nervous system depression in pigs, so the drug should be discontinued and treated symptomatically.
