After the phenomenon of boiler oxygen corrosion caused by boiler water was discovered, deoxidation of boiler water has become a priority. In response to this phenomenon, various oxygen removal methods are gradually adopted by people. However, these new oxygen removal methods still cannot meet the operating conditions of large steam boilers. The principle of the thermal deaerator is based on the gas dissolution law (Dalton and Henry's law). The solubility of any gas in water is proportional to the partial pressure of this gas at the steam-water interface. When the water temperature in an open device increases, the partial pressure of water vapor at the steam-water interface increases, the partial pressure of various gases decreases, and the solubility in water will decrease. When the water temperature reaches the boiling point, the water vapor pressure at the steam-water interface is equal to the external pressure, and the partial pressure of other gases is reduced to zero. All kinds of gases cannot be dissolved in water, and the various gases originally dissolved in the water will be resolved. Therefore, the thermal deaerator can not only remove oxygen, but also remove other gases in the water.
The thermal deaerator uses the solubility of oxygen in water to heat the boiler feed water through steam. According to Henry's Law and Dalton's Law, non-condensable gases such as oxygen and carbon dioxide dissolved in the water are removed from the water. The precipitated water is discharged through the exhaust port on the top of the deaeration head, thereby achieving the purpose of deaeration.
