The source is the root of the Apiaceae plant Angelica sinensis.
Plant form Perennial herb, tall ~. The stems are purple, smooth, and grooved. The basal leaves and the lower part of the stem are triangular, with three-pinnate lobes, the final lobes are oblong, pubescent on both sides, and the edges are irregularly serrated. The upper leaves of the stem are simplified into leaf sheaths. The compound umbel is densely covered with yellow pubescent umbrellas, small involucre bracts, pedicels, and white flowers. The double-hanging fruit is oblong, with wing-like lateral edges. The flowering period is ~ 2 months, and the fruiting period is ~ 3 months.
