The plant form is a perennial herb with white villous and glandular hairs throughout the plant. The leaf base is clustered, obovate-lanceolate, the base narrows into a stalk, the edges have irregular blunt teeth, the leaf surface is wrinkled, and the underside is slightly purple. The flower stems are extracted from the leaves, and the inflorescences are racemose, calyx lobed, and the corolla is bell-shaped, slightly lip-shaped, purple-red, and often has yellow and purple stripes on the inside.
