The seeds of the leguminous plant Canava (.).

Annual semi-erect twining herb, tall~. The three compound leaves are alternate and the leaflets are broadly ovate or ovate-elliptical in shape, about 100cm long and 1cm wide. Racemes, axillary, calyx, lip-shaped corolla, butterfly-shaped, light reddish purple, round flag petals, narrow and separated wing petals, curved keel petals, single stamens or partially separated stamens, ovary with sparse long bristles. The pods are band-shaped and flat, slightly curved, up to long, with ridges on the edges. The seeds are oval, red or brown, and the hilum is approximately 1/2 of the total length of the seed.
